Revolutionary Throughput and Long-Range Performance

Powered by Ubiquiti’s proprietary INVICTUS™ silicon processing engine, the AF-5U supports high-band operating frequencies from 5725 MHz to 6200 MHz. Capable of pushing over 1.2 Gbps in total throughput and processing more than 1 million packets per second (PPS), the AF-5U seamlessly bridges distances exceeding 100 km (62 miles). With advanced 1024QAM MIMO modulation and dual-slant 23 dBi antennas, it maximizes spectral efficiency and link quality across complex RF environments.

GPS Frame Synchronization and Co-Location Optimization

The AF-5U incorporates integrated GPS clock synchronization to precisely align transmit and receive timing frames. This eliminates co-location interference, allowing multiple airFiber radios to be deployed on the same tower or mast without performance degradation. Its high-band RF filtering enables seamless co-location alongside lower-band 5 GHz devices.

Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) and Low Latency

Utilizing proprietary Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) technology, the AF-5U combines the speed of Full Duplex with the spectral efficiency of Half Duplex. This architecture calculates link propagation delay in real time, virtually eliminating latency delays down to less than 200 microseconds in Full Duplex mode for near-instantaneous packet delivery.

Rugged Outdoor Engineering and Secure Management

Built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, the AF-5U features a heavy-duty industrial enclosure rated for wind survivability up to 200 km/h (125 mph) and operating temperatures from -40 °C to 55 °C (-40 °F to 131 °F). Data transmissions are secured with 128-bit AES encryption. The unit includes a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet data port, an independent 10/100 Mbps management port, an alignment tone port, and dual LED signal strength displays for efficient aiming during installation.
